Soho House have a new baby in town, and it’s not just for members. Kettner’s Townhouse – a restaurant and Champagne Bar with 33 bedrooms is taking Soho by storm. Founded in 1867 by Auguste Kettner, Kettner’s was one of the very first restaurants in London to serve French food. Guests included Oscar Wilde, Winston Churchill, Margaret Thatcher, Agatha Christie & Robert De Niro – rumour even has it that King Edward VII courted his mistress Lillie Langtry in the private dining rooms…
This historic Georgian building which has been closed for a year, is now renovated and re-launched. Included in the menu is a delicious choice of both French and English dishes *truffle roast chicken with Pommes Anna anyone?!*
Then there’s the Piano Bar with it’s very own pianist and a Champagne Bar with the original mosaic floor. If you’ve had one too many of the Champagne Cocktails on offer then there’s always one of the thirty three bedrooms upstairs to choose from! x
